The Birth of The Smoking Jacket

Today I propose a look where i’m wearing the classic “Smoking Jacket”. Not everyone knows that one of the first designers who bring men’s clothing in the female wardrobe was Yves Saint Laurent who introduced the smoking jacket. The head in question was white with black revers . A jacket that has made the history of fashion, after other fashion designers began to introduce it in their collection until now, that has become one of the five essential items to have in your wardrobe. But why was  called Smoking? Simple, once was an ordinary dark jacket worn by men when they went into “smoking rooms”. This garment prevented that the dress below ruined with the smell of tobacco. Regarding the look of today, I wanted to match the jacket with  a crosses sweater . The accessories are all red from the lipstick to the bag . A simple but nice outfit suitable for a workday or a lunch with friends. 😉 

Nel look che vi propongo oggi indosso la classica “Smoking Jacket”. Non tutti sanno che uno dei primi stilisti a portare capi maschili nel guardaroba femminile  fu  Yves Saint Laurent che introdusse la smoking jacket nel look della donna. Il capo in questione era  bianco con i revers neri. Una giacca che ha fatto la storia della moda, in seguito altri fashion designer cominciarono ad introdurla nelle loro collezione fino ad oggi che è diventata uno dei 5 capi indispensabili nel proprio armadio. Ma perchè veniva e viene tutt’ora chiamata Smoking? Semplice, una volta era una normalissima giacca scura da “camera” indossata dagli uomini solo quando entravano nelle ” sale fumatori”. Questo capo impediva che l’abito al di sotto si rovinasse con l’odore del tabacco. Per quanto riguarda il look di oggi; ho voluto abbinare alla giacca una maglia con croci disegnate e pietre applicate. Gli accessori sono tutti sul rosso, dal lipstick alla borsa di Miu Miu. Un outfit semplice ma curato adatto ad una giornata lavorativa o ad un pranzo con le amiche. 😉
