Breakfast on the Grass by Manet

Associations of ideas, places, thoughts, this is the job that constantly makes our brain, and that inevitably leads us to confront past events that re-emerge in  mind. During these shots I associated the green meadow to one of the paintings by Manet, studied during my training: “Lunch on on the Grass.” I loved the elegant irreverence that the painter transmitted through his art work. The picture shows two men lying in a park, fully clothed intent to consume their meal, next to them a naked woman who looks towards the viewer. You may wonder where’s the scandal?
At that time it was appropriate to portray naked women, but they were all gods, goddesses, not real people. Manet retracting a true and real  woman caused the sensation of the whole society. Today it is one of the most popular paintings in art history. Follow their own ideas, and not to go against the crowd with the flock , never give up in what you believe and in your own ideas. never!

Associazioni di idee, luoghi, pensieri questo è il lavoro che incessantemente fa il nostro cervello e che ci porta inevitabilmente a confrontarci con eventi passati che riaffiorano nella mente. Durante questi scatti ho associato il prato verde ad uno dei quadri di Manet, studiato durante il mio percorso formativo: “Colazione sull’erba“. Ho amato l’elegante irriverenza che il pittore trasmise attraverso la sua opera d’arte. Il quadro ritrae due uomini sdraiati in un parco, completamente vestiti intenti nel consumare il loro pasto, a fianco a loro una donna nuda che volge lo sguardo verso lo spettatore. Vi chiederete dov’è lo scandalo? A quel tempo era consono ritrarre donne nude, ma tutte erano divinità, dee, persone non reali. Manet ritraendo una donna vera e propria e reale, ciò suscitò lo scalpore di tutta la società. Ad oggi è uno dei quadri più conosciuti nella storia dell’arte. Seguire le proprie idee, andare controcorrente e non ammassarsi con il gregge paga, mai rinunciare in ciò in cui si crede e nelle proprie idee. Mai!!
