Saut Hermes 2017: Edwina Tops-Alexander in first place
Saut Hermes in 2017.
The 17th of March the annual equestrian event organized by the French brand Hermès begun. Three days of characterized by strong emotions, adrenaline and big surprises. Sunday 19th, the Grand Prix took place; in this occasion I was there with Hermès. The obstacle course on which the 47 riders competed was really challenging. The course designed by Frank Rothenberger was so hard that only 3 riders were able to have a score that gave them access to the Barrage. Guilty of this cut down was one of the last obstacles, the Oxer. 13 riders on 47 preferred to retire and not to conclude the course.
As expected many controversies have arisen. The finalists were: Bertram Allen on Molly Malone that concludes the barrage with 4 penalties and with a time of 39.20 seconds. The French Penelope Leprevost on Vagabond de la pomme, concluded the path with zero penalties and a time of 41.44 seconds. Classified third, but first on the podium, the iconic Edwina Tops Alexander that on California concludes the path in 4:36 seconds. The duo California and Edwina have outclassed all the other horses and riders. The harmony between the two was perceivable, the gallop was smooth and never once the Amazon “has forced the horse. Also Penelope and her Vagabond de la pomme were very in tune and the gestures of this horse made me literally fall in love, even here the harmony and the respect of the horse were rewarded.
Hermes’ Universe at the Grand Palais
In this eighth edition, the Saut Hermès once again left everyone breathless, not only for the competition and horse shows, but also for the preparation of the different corners who see the horse and its rider as protagonists. You could breathe the allure of the brand everywhere; I witnessed how the valuable brand’s saddles were created. Skilled craftsmen select the best leathers to create these objects with caution and meticulousness in the details. Another corner that has aroused the attention of the smallest was one that had a virtual horse, and through a viewer the participants could care after a horse as if it was next to us. For riding lovers the corner of the brand was a must, form the rider’s cloths to the under saddles for the rider, keyword: Orange.
